THE BOOK
The book Stilla (meaning "Pacific" in Swedish), was created with inspiration from Scandinavian design, which ties to Ballard's maritime roots. This connection to the neighborhood's past permeates through the written copy, photography, and design, which showcases the history and culture of Ballard.
THE BRANDING
To brand Ballard as a place to connect to the past while also looking forward, I drew inspiration from the Nordic heritage the community holds dear. The illustrations were all sketched by hand, then finished in Illustrator and applied to different merchandise items, a mural, and an Instagram post promoting tourism.
